RARE Antique Bi Color Purple & Blue Transferware Staffordshire Thanksgiving Turkey Plate Royal Cauldon

$169.99

Brand Royal Cauldon

Here's a very rare two color transferware plate for your Thanksgiving decor or feast...and a feast for the eyes of any serious transferware collector, too.

After 1828, technology allowed potters to produce two and three color transfer wares.  This is probably one of the earliest examples of turkey transferware (sometime after 1863). This beautiful plate features two colors, purple / lavender and blue.  It depicts a stunning wild turkey with a border of foliage around it.  It was made  by Royal Cauldon of England somewhere between the mid 1860s and 1900.

It's in wonderful condition, having a little surface wear, though not much, and only some light crazing. There are no chips or cracks on this 100+ year old beauty.

Measures: appx 10 1/8"
