RARE Antique Staffordshire Lavender Transferware Oblong Oval Drainer Fish Platter Botanical Wild Flowers

$279.00

Brand Brown, Westhead and Moore

For consideration is a very rare piece from the Aesthetic Movement. It is a platter insert designed especially for the oblong size of a fish, specifically for draining juices or to allow the fish to rest above the sauce so it doesn’t get soggy.  These types of platters and inserts especially are seldom found.  The light purple / lavender transfer design is exquisite with an intricate and striking mix of botanicals and wild flowers. I think this piece is exquisite and so beautiful.
I think it would be amazing to add small pegs or dowels on the holes and use it as a necklace holder!

This antique piece was manufactured in Staffordshire, England.

Circa 1870-1880

Measures: 19” x 6 1/8”

Condition: no chips or cracks. Some crazing throughout. Absolutely Gorgeous
