Spode / W. T. Copeland and Sons Transfer Ware Razor or Toothbrush Box. The pattern is the "KEW" pattern which was named after the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, near Richmond, London. The design, with a border of chrysanthemum blooms and geometric style panels around a central stylized floral arrangement in a large vase, with a fence and additional floral in the background. This is the Aesthetic style which became very popular in the 1860s s and was inspired by Japanese design.

The piece measures about 8 3/4" in length, 3 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" to the top of the handle.

This piece is in very good condition with the normal crazing, one 3/4" area around the upper left corner rim of the box, not the cover.
