Vintage French Transferware Double Egg Cup

Elevate your breakfast table or vintage kitchen display with this beautiful vintage porcelain double-ended egg cup. Designed in the classic hourglass or "diabolo" silhouette, this piece blends old-world European charm with ingenious dual-purpose functionality.
The cup features a beautifully detailed, sepia-toned brown transferware pattern depicting a continuous vine of plump grape clusters, delicate tendrils, and broad leaves. Both the upper and lower rims are elegantly hand-finished with a delicate gold gilt trim that catches the light beautifully against the crisp white glazed porcelain.  I also love using these as small vases for a sprig of small flowers at place settings or scattered around a table.

How it works:
  • The Smaller End: Perfectly cradles a standard soft-boiled egg upright in its shell so you can cleanly slice off the top.
  • The Larger End: Can be flipped over to hold a larger egg (like a duck or goose egg). Alternatively, following popular 1930s traditions, it serves as a mixing bowl to hold a shelled, soft-boiled egg chopped up with butter, salt, pepper, or toast soldiers.

Condition: no chips or cracks, very good, some minor crazing,
