For consideration is this vintage meat carving set by Sheffield of England. It consists of a carving knife, a meat fork and a knife sharpener. All have black (Lucite? or Bakelite?)handles with brass trim. The knife is hallmarked with the Sheffield Wavecrest mark as shown.
Sheffield is known the world over for its stainless steel development that took hold in the early 19th Century. Many firms produced pieces like this and the wood bread and butter boards that are so highly collected today.
Condition: appears to have very rarely been used. Minor scratches. Blade is also in excellent, appearing almost unused, condition.
