I just love the chintz / sheet patterned border on this plate...it blends effortlessly into the pastoral scene in which it frames.  The outer rim is scalloped with a darker, almost navy, trim.  The scene depicts a serene pastoral landscape that unfolds beneath a softly clouded sky, with a towering tree anchoring the center of the composition. A quiet country homestead sits in the distance, surrounded by rolling fields and wooded hills.
