Antique 19th Century Red Transferware Lily of the Valley Garden Buda Plate brickwork Border

$59.99

Brand Minton

For consideration is this early red / pink Staffordshire plate unattributed to a particular maker (though it has been thought to be Enoch Wood) in the Buda Pattern, produced between 1891-1910.  It depicts a classical Style European garden with water fountains built on freestanding wall sections leading to a castle in the background.  In the front is a group of people, one playing a mandolin.  To the left is a large planting of Lily of the Valley.  It has an absolutely beautiful border of a bricked wall covered with intricate scrollwork and floral designs.  Such a beautiful piece.

Measures:  9 3/4”

Condition: There are no chips or cracks.  There are some small pops in the glaze and minor light brown crazing.
