This lovely antique plate was produced in the Saar Basin between roughly 1920 and 1935.
The rich cranberry-red transferware pattern features abundant florals cascading around the scalloped rim, with softly shaded roses, chrysanthemums, and delicate trailing blossoms woven through an intricate sponge-like ground. The center is left airy and open with a simple floral spray, allowing the ornate border to truly shine.
