Extra HUGE Antique Brown Transferware Staffordshire Thanksgiving Turkey Platter Royal Cauldon 22"

$599.00

Brand Royal Cauldon

Oh, this is so gorgeous! Perfect, perfect, perfect for your Thanksgiving feast...and a feast for the eyes of any serious transferware collector, too. In fact, I sort of secretly don't want it to sell!  This humongous platter is trimmed with gold and depicts a stunning wild turkey with a border of foliage around it. It was made in 1910 by Royal Cauldon of England.

It's in wonderful condition, having a little wear to the gold trim, though not much, and only some crazing with the lightest of faint darkening in craze lines. There are no chips or cracks on this 100+ year old beauty.

Measures: 22" x 18" this baby will hold a 25+ pound bird...I know because I've served on one of these! (Also listing one a bit smaller at just under 20" wide)

See my blog posts to learn more about English Transferware. I was featured (and this platter to!) in the Nov 2011 issue of Romantic Homes magazine where I discussed turkey themed transferware:

I have seen this same Cauldon turkey platter sell on other websites and at auction for $849-1199.
