For consideration I am offering this beautiful bowl perfectly sized for small desserts, candies / nuts or as a trinket dish, by Englands Master Potters, W. Adams & Sons. The Adams have a long and rich history amongst the wrolds finest potters spanning 10 generations, in the place most famous for the beautiful transferware produced, Staffordshire, England. In 1966 Adams became part of Josiah Wedgwood Ltd. Backstamps usually include Adams in some form and Tunstall often appears from 1896.

Absolutely beautiful purple/plum transfer ware plate with a classic scene of Mazara, a town and comune in southwestern Sicily, Italy, which lies mainly on the left bank at the mouth of the Mazaro river. Mazara was founded by the Phoenicians in the 9th century BC and today is one of the most important fishing centers in Italy.

The bowl has a gadrooned edge, pie crust rim and beautiful basketweave and scroll border that frames the scene.

Measures: 5 1/2" x 1 1/4" deep

 

Condition: Good, No chips or cracks, there is crazing and some minor browning in the craze lines.
